Basilica of San Lorenzo is one of the oldest and most important Catholic churches in Milan. At the same time, it is one of the most visited landmarks in the capital of Lombardy. This magnificent temple, which was built between the fourth and fifth centuries, is located inside the network of irrigation canals that were constructed in the time of the Roman Empire. Near the Basilica are City Park, Basilica of Sant’Eustorgio, medieval port Ticino and the oldest Roman ruins in the city.
